In making a big change, we remembered a valuable lesson.
“Your mother is good at what she does, if you went to work with her, you could have a really good life.” My dad waited for his words to sink in. I was surprised because we did not talk about mom much, at that moment I knew I would never forget those words.
We had that conversation towards the end of his life, as his health was declining. When he passed not long after, it was six months before I took his words to heart. It was then I joined my mom, Carol, in real estate. I had worked several jobs (many simultaneously) and been a volunteer fireman for years, however, I did not know where I was headed in life.
Carol had been a REALTOR® since 1985 and had all the answers. She took me under her wing and gave me direction.
There was a lot of information to absorb. With so many tests, books, and then real-world experience where anything could happen—it was overwhelming. But I was no stranger to hard work and in fact, hard work was what my family was built on.
When we first moved to Franklin in 1979, my mom and dad opened a string of convenience stores. There were seven of them open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. They were all over the area and it was a tough industry. Twenty-four plus hour days were not out of the ordinary and they faced a lot of long nights when employees did not show up as scheduled.
It was a risky business and there were some scary moments beyond those sleepy drives from store to store. But Carol and my dad did whatever needed to be done. They provided a good life for me and my sister and even made time to go to all our sporting events when we were kids. Although, looking back on it, it does not seem to have been humanly possible to do everything they did.
No matter what, they did not let anything stop them. Growing up, it was important to not only work hard but also to do so for the community. As far as Dad was concerned, if you did not leave the community better than you found it, then what were you doing all that time?
We always do what we can to give back and be there for the people in our lives. Part of what we love so much about real estate is that it lets us be there for others during a difficult time in order to make it less stressful.
That desire to leave the community better than we found it has pushed us to grow and help in every way we can from property management to Airbnb. What we realized a long time ago was that you do not have to share blood to be family. Most of my family is not blood-related, however, it does not make a difference. Once someone becomes a friend, it is not long after that they are a part of the family.
Carol and I work as a team to help our clients in every way possible. Each of us has an area of expertise from my wife, Melissa, who is in charge of property management and Airbnb to Carol with her decades of unparalleled real estate experience. As a fireman and trained professional, I have learned how to diffuse even the most difficult situations. In the end, we just want to make life a little easier for you.
When I am not working, I like to spend time with my family and golf while Carol likes to travel. Our favorite part of being REALTORS® is that moment we find the perfect match for our client and seeing all the possibilities light up their eyes.
Whether you are buying or selling a home it is personal. That is why we take the time to get to know you from the start. Most of our clients start out as friends and we take our relationships with others seriously. The trust you put in us to take care of your needs is huge and not a responsibility we take lightly. With Melissa’s expertise in property management and Airbnb, Carol’s decades of experience, added with my own experience, we have you covered.
We have been a part of this community for over four decades and know all there is to know about it. We can help you find the perfect property and the perfect place here to fit your lifestyle. We care about your results and will do whatever we can to help you reach where you are going. Once the transaction is over, we will still be around to help you continue to reach your goals as your lifelong real estate agents.
Sincerely,
Jon Krawcyk Carol Krawcyk
